Stay and Play in the garden

Image
On Wednesday Hyde Park Source came in to begin their Stay and Play sessions with Year 1. These will be taking place every Wednesday morning for the next 5 weeks.  This week we did an Autumn scavenger hunt and then we learned about using leaves for compost, and some children helped to get one of the beds ready for planting by removing weeds and replanting some chamomile plants. We even had a visit from Pudsey Bear! Will you be joining us in the garden next week?

Lots of odd socks!

Today in Owls class, lots of people wore odd socks! We are supporting the Anti-Bullying week by wearing our odd socks, and saying that being different is a good thing!

Odd Socks?

What is going on with these socks? Mrs Fenske and Miss McGill both seem to have odd socks on... Can you explain why?

Year 1 have started reading Bear Snores On. To introduce this text we recreated the bear's cave using the pavilion in the Secret Garden. We built our own campfire to keep us warm while we read the story!
