Culture Week - Firework Poetry

Image
As part of our Culture Week, we have been learning all about fireworks. We watched a film clip of fireworks and linked our learning in science to use our senses to describe what fireworks look and sound like. Here is a poem some of the children in Finches class wrote together : Fantastic Fireworks Pop! Boom! Bang! Fireworks spinning quickly in the dark night sky Sparkling fireworks blasting across the huge, black sky Golden fireworks shimmering in the darkness Shiny silver fireworks zoom in the cold, night air.

DT- Fruit Kebab

The children have been researching and designing fruit kebabs. We tasted a range of fruits, voted for our favourites before creating our own fruit kebabs. Before we made them the children discussed the importance of washing their hands and ensuring the fruit and equipment were clean. The children used the bridge and claw method to cut a variety of fruits. We were very responsible whilst using the knifes. The children really enjoyed creating and tasting the kebabs. Children said ‘This is the best day, these are so tasty.’
