Year 1 Iveson Blog

The children had a fantastic day at EUREKA! last week. They took part in the “Gross Lab” workshop, where they learnt all about the human body. The children were able to explore all the exhibitions and loved learning about different jobs and careers. The EUREKA! staff mentioned how well behaved the children were and that they were a pleasure to have.  Well done Year 1!

This week, we have been exploring making patterns and printing, using Andy Warhol’s prints as a stimulus.  The children loved the bright colours he used and were excited to experiment with a range of colours and textures as they tried their own. 

Today in Science the children labelled their body parts. Using the song Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes as a starting point, the children used Post-it notes to create their own labels for other body parts. They enjoyed being active and had some fantastic discussions about their learning. Well done, Year 1-what super teamwork!
