English- Chapatti Moon

This week the children have started reading Chapatti moon in English. We have enjoyed talking about the different breads we eat at home. Mrs Qureshi has kindly brought in her own from home and the children enjoyed trying the the Chapatti’s whilst we read the story together.  

Science - Our Senses

 We have been learning all about our 5 senses. The children had the opportunity to complete different activities linking to sight and touch. The children had a chance to look through coloured lenses, looked at interesting objects with magnifying glasses, used blindfolds to hues what objects they could feel. And explored the texture of different objects in feebly bags. We used lots of words to describe what they could feel. 

RE - The Tortoise and the Hare

This week the children have been learning about moral stories and why they are important. We read the fable ‘The Tortoise and the Hare’. We made predictions about what happened in the plot and discussed the message of the story lessons. We agreed that being speedy isn’t always that best and that their are other ways of winning a race. The children said that it’s about not giving up and trying our best.

Welcome back to Iveson Primary. We have had an amazing first few days back at school.  All the children have settled into their new classrooms and are enjoying being part of the Owls and Finches communities. Everyone has worked hard and all the teachers are so proud of the work that the children have produced already. Take a look
