 The children had a fantastic day competing in lots of different sports and activities. The children enjoyed competing in teams to do running races, skipping, egg and spoon races, obstacle courses and lots more!  Well done year 1 you showed great determination and team spirit. It was lovely to see you cheering on your team mates!

 This week in maths the children have been telling the time to one hour and half past. They have done lots of practice practically with clocks in class and had fun drawing the clocks on the playground. They then took it in time to tell the time using their bodies as the hands.

 We had lots of fun last week celebrating the finals of the Euros. The children enjoyed creating England flags, practicing dribbling and football skills and singing popular football chants.  Such a shame about the result, but we are extremely proud! 

The children had lots of fun using the laptops for the first time this week. They created fact files about sea creatures on word. They were able to use the keyboard to write sentences and facts about their chosen sea creatures. They then used the internet to search for images to copy and paste into their document. Great work year 1!  

This week the children have started learning about money. The children were challenged to order the value of coins and notes from 1p to £20. They then compared values of different coins using greater than and less than. Well done Year 1!
