Year 1 Iveson Blog

This week the children have worked extremely hard to create their moving part Christmas card. The children used their cutting and design skills, also adding their own creative flare.  We hope you liked them as much as we enjoyed making them! 

 This week we have been learning all about Hedgehogs, why they are in danger and what we can do to look after them. The children created their own Hedgehog homes using cardboard boxes. Using their cutting and modelling skills, the children worked together to build their cosy home using natural resources found in our Secret Garden.  Once finished the children placed them somewhere hidden to attract the Hedgehogs. Lucky Animals! 

Finches class have been focusing on number bonds to 10. The children are becoming more confident representing number bonds in a variety of ways including number sentences, part part whole method and numicon. We are also developing our reasoning skills by solving mathematical problems.  Look at our fantastic practical learning!

We will be posting Home Learning and spelling each week on Google Classrooom. Your child has been provided a login. If you would like to share any work you have done you can use this to upload photos and comments   Here are some instructions to help you access Gooogle Classroom:  Type Google Classroom into Google:  Click the second search result entitled Google Classroom  Type in the username. Then click next. Then type in the password. Then click next. Click the blue header entitled Iveson Year 1 and this will take you into the classroom. The stream will show new work at the top. By clicking the classwork tab at the top of the page you can see all the work which has been set.
